Beetroot is a family favorite, and one of the ways we regularly enjoy beets is in a soup.
Today, I will share with you an easy beetroot soup for babies and toddlers that contains lots of yummy ingredients and is a big hit with babies. Especially if they love the color red!

HEALTH BENEFITS OF BEETROOT FOR A BABY
Beetroot contains many micronutrients needed during the growing years. Nutrients like iron, manganese, copper, potassium, and Vit C are available in good amounts in beets.
The red color comes from pigments called betalains that have anti-inflammatory properties and can protect against cancer.
And the fiber in beets can help in the digestion process.

EASY BEETROOT SOUP FOR BABIES AND TODDLERS

Easy Beetroot Soup for Babies And Toddlers
Ingredients
- 2 beetroots medium size
- 2 carrots medium size
- 1 onion
- 1 potato
- 2 garlic pods
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt skip for babies under 1.
Instructions
- In a hot pressure pan heat oil and add the garlic, mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- When they start to sizzle and pop add in the chopped onion. Sauté until golden brown.
- Now add the beetroot, carrot, and potato pieces.
- Add a cup of water or enough water to cover the ingredients.
- Cook in the pressure pan for 3 whistles. Cool it down completely
- Once cool, blend in a mixer.
- Transfer into a pot again, add another cup of water, corn flour, cumin powder, salt, and crushed black pepper powder.
- Stir well and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- You can serve it with a piece of toasted bread for appetizers.
EXTRA TIPS FOR SERVING THE BEETROOT SOUP
To allow the baby to self-feed, you can serve the soup with finger-length length lightly toasted bread. The baby can easily dip the bread in the soup and enjoy a filling meal.
The soup can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container and stays fresh in the fridge for up to 3 days. This makes this recipe meal plan-friendly.
