Ingredients

  • 12 figs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • water as needed

Instructions

  • Roughly chop the figs and add them to a thick bottom utensil.
  • Add the sugar, cinnamon powder, and a splash of water. You don’t need a lot of water as the figs also release liquid once they start cooking.
  • Mix everything well and continue cooking on a medium flame with intermittent stirring.
  • To get desired “jamminess” you may need to stir intermittently for about 20 minutes depending on how much liquid the figs release. Once most of the liquid is reduced the texture becomes thick and slowly slides off the spoon. That’s when you know the jam is ready.
  • Cool down the jam and transfer to sterilized glass jars.

Notes

Storage instructions :
Can be stored in the fridge for up to a month.

Additional notes :

1. The figs are roughly chopped and added with the skin on.
